Something new and fun to share…
I purchased many 3″ and 2.5″ satin balls this past winter with the intention of creating Fiber Art designs and mounting them on the balls for ornaments. My mind is always one step ahead of what I am able to do physically or time-wise. So-I had been wanting to add a leaf or leaves and flower(s) to a ball and started with my shuttle-tatted Flair blossom pattern in white with very bright yellow glass edge beading. Then I made a crisp white leaf with clear beading to match.
The fun part came when we sat down to watch our movies this past weekend and it was time to finish the ornament with the many options of beads, balls and pins that I have acquired. After selecting a bright red ball and placing the beaded leaf on it…voila! Apple, I thought, “how fun is this!” I finished out the beading with matching bright red, AB coated amber and bright golden yellow with a big AB coated clear crystal in the center of the Flair.
Attached with wee sequin pins that are neatly hidden, the leaf and Flair transform this red holiday ball into a Red Delicious Apple.
