Huge News! My work is in Country Living magazine!

I have been waiting for the day I could shout this from the rooftops! My lacework is in the October issue of Country Living Magazine! Back in July they commissioned me to design a panel of tatted words surrounded by a simple old-fashioned lace design. I worked hard for perfection, spending two weeks, emailing and phoning back and forth to get the editors at Hearst Magazine what they were they were envisioning. And I tatted around the clock to meet their deadline! The final result was this panel:

The panel was over-nighted to their offices in New York and then I waited anxiously to see if it actually made it into the magazine. It is one page of a two page introduction to an article called ” Arsenic and Old Lace”, an article about old-fashioned fall and Halloween themed home decor including lacework. The actual panel was cropped for the magazine page and shot up close. It is on page 84. My name and web address are on the seam side of the page.

I am soooo excited to have been noticed and asked to attempt this task. Yahoo!!! Another good thing that came out of this project is that now I have a basis for a tatted script alphabet.

The original panel before the ends were tied in:

The detail of the lacework: I tried to be as perfect as possible!

I continue to count my blessings as I continue my career as a fiber artist. And I thank everyone, especially my husband, for all the support and encouragement I continually receive. It truly means so much to me.

Thanks for letting me gush!

Cheers!
