My PIXELS are getting bigger and bigger

Bloom

Hi all! Some of you may know I have an additional shop that I run along with Etsy and here where I sell my tatted works. I am also a traditional artist and sell my work on PIXELS.com. I mostly work in realism, recreating realistic subject matter from my own photography, but my surrealism/expressionism is popular and some of my favorite works.

The cool thing about shopping on PIXELS is the variety of items my work can be printed on. Here are a few options aside from traditional prints, stretched canvases, metal prints and fully framed items: pillow covers, phone cases, beach towels, tote bags, small pouches, greeting cards, coffee mugs and t shirts. I may have missed a few options but the sizes and options of prints and products is staggering.

I also sell my photography on PIXELS.com…here are a few of my faves:

My expressionism can be very raw at times. The work is often inspired by emotional pain and the physical pain of my neurological disorder. I am disabled and have been for a long time but I am an artist and my work gives me a love of life, even through the pain I have to endure. Here are a few of my surrealism and expressionism works:

Coloring has become popular as of late. People like to color and relax. I admit it is very relaxing. I started off by making the black line drawn blanks using software, thinking I really didn’t want to color them in. And then that all changed when I saw what happens when you add color when my little sister and her daughters filled some in for me. So I have blank black line drawings for sale and if you don’t want to color it yourself, I can sell you what I have colored in myself. You can use PIXELS to print what you want on many of the options I listed above. You can also visit the section “Printables to Color” in my Etsy shop and download and print the Mandala on paper (I recommend heavy cardstock) and color it in yourself. Many of them are so tedious in design, you can spend hours filling in all the spaces, like the one below.

At PIXELS.com you can find endless options when it comes to buying my artwork. If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest, you will find that I post from all three shops, this shop, Etsy and PIXELS. It’s a great way to see what I have and keep up with new works.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and take a moment to visit PIXELS to see the endless possibilities of how my work can be made into something just for you.

The Vine, the Strand and the Scallop.

New work has been created and is now ready for sale in the category “Currently for Sale” on the left or the right depending on what device you are viewing this with. I have not created my design called “Vine” in a long time and decided to revisit it. In olive and deep red, I think I hit the mark. I altered the pattern to have two leaves before each flower instead of one. The result was a winding vine that retains its shape with red flowers along the way. I have also decided that people seem to request sets of jewelry often so I made Vine earrings to go with the bracelet. The center bead is a rich, garnet red, Swarovski crystal pearl. The beading in the petals of the flowers are Aurora Borealis amber Czech glass drops.

Strand is one of my favorite designs for its simplicity and elegance. Again, I made a set of jewelry this time but it was a pendant and earrings set. Wee blue seed beads with copper centers are woven into the tatting and along the ends before ending in brilliant turquoise colored crystals that I have acquired. Simple, unique, elegant, the pendant is suspended from a simple silver chain. Perfect for day or night, you can find this jewelry set with the other in the new category to the left, right or below (depending on your device-lol).

Finally, as many of you know now, I got married this summer. And I designed all of my jewelry and hair accessory. The above pendant is the design I used for earrings. My husband helped me aptly name it “Scallop”. Possibly because of the scalloped edges, possibly because he used to be a commercial fisherman. Either way, I love the name. There are silver-lined Czech glass seeds tatted into the intersections and a brilliant Swarovski crystal in the center, a Celestial crystal dangles from the bottom, as well. Brilliant but not flashy and very white with the white satin cord necklace…I think the holidays and beyond will suit this pendant well.

Along with tatting and drawing and painting and living, I have been pondering about my site here on wordpress. I own my own domain…that is why you are at http://www.snappytatter.com and not “ww.snappytatter.someplace.com”. And earlier this year I upgraded so you won’t be bothered by ads while I chit chat. Now I am thinking of upgrading further so that this domain will become a place for full service shopping. Right now, you can buy any of the items I have listed one by one but my main shop is still on the Etsy platform (whose practices have become irritating and unhelpful as of late). It costs more money (of course) to turn this into a platform where I chat and you can shop endlessly, so I am giving this serious thought. My question to those of you reading this tonight/day…would you like to shop here along with hearing about my life, projects, and other ideas I may explore? Right now, you can buy things one at a time. An upgrade would mean you get to shop and purchase more than one item. And as always I am available to chat about custom work. It would just be through email, which is actually faster for me. So chime in, please, I would love to know what you think. In the meantime I will do more research on how simple the change is or isn’t.

I will return soon with more new work and more thoughts on upgrading.

Fear

My latest painting “Fear” is available on my digital art website: www.jennifer-kohr.pixels.com.

This began as a painting called “doomed”, as I was struggling with my mental health and severe cluster headaches when I began painting it. As I continue to work on my paintings and drawings, new thoughts for the title always come through. It eventually became obvious to me that I was drawing a figure huddled in fear. There are two perspectives to this work and probably more if I gave it enough thought.

WIP Wednesday…Snappy Tatter Fiber Art

I often see my fellow artists and artisans posting photos on Facebook on Wednesdays for “WIP” or “Work in Progress” Wednesday. I thought I would give a peek into a piece I have been working on for the last year. My passion is my fiber art. Whether is is wearable Couture, framed or small box sculptures it is what makes my heart sing and brings satisfaction to my life. Here are 3 pics of work that is part way through. The embroidery is finished as far as I know but I have other elements I am in the process of adding. The next photos will hopefully be when this piece is finally finished. The face was drawn first and then I painted the design onto evenweave fabric with a large palette of colors in cotton, rayon and various metallic threads.

This is what a Snappy Tatter does when she is not tatting!

This is unnamed for now. Thoughts of titles are floating around but I will wait until the final stitches are laid and more elements are added to make that commitment.

This is my WIP right now. There are other things…a new watch is in the works and a smaller embroidery needs framed and two Couture designs are being worked on. Hopefully I will have pics of those things very soon as well as this finished design.
