Custom work…new PIXIE Pin and war of the Kitties!

This sweet little PIXIE Butterfly Pin was a custom request from a Snappy Tatter follower. I love the green, deep orange glass, and amber Swarovski crystal. Mounted on a half inch lever pin this little bugger will be traveling to the UK soon.

Thought I would share before she flits away!

This is my two cats, Mac and BeBe re-establishing their personal space after a long summer. BeBe has the white. When the weather gets cooler, BeBe claims this blue rocker in my studio behind my desk while Mac sleeps by my feet. Apparently, Mac has decided she should share (they used to kanoodle all the time). I looked at them and snapped this shot and thought “uh-oh…I give it about 2 minutes”. Tails were slapping, stares were challenged, I got up to sit at my drafting table and “Me-owwww….hissssssssssss”, black fur flies and it’s Game ON!!!

BeBe won.

Lady Diana

I created the Diana butterfly a little while ago and fell in love. She is a double winged shuttle-tatted beauty that is wonderfully 3-D. This Boysenberry colored version has tiny glass seed beads tatted into the wings for some Bling and a large glass focal bead for her body. The center bead is a purple color with a golden cast to it. I made this Sterling Silver butterfly stick pin for myself and have been wearing her around on my trendy sweaters that have 3-D bulky flowers on them. She looks like part of the sweater nestled in among big knitted flowers. I wore her out the other day on my heavy cream-colored, cable knit Alpaca sweater coat and people fell in love with her.

The first Diana I made was pale blue with a pearl center.

I will be making a smaller Diana for a Barrette soon. I think she will look lovely resting in someones hair.

New Photos!

While I wait to travel to the in-laws for holiday photos I have made additional entries in BBB, Simplicity, and Rosette Barrettes. I have also added Infinity Bracelets, the Ice Crystal Snowflake Box under Butterfly Gardens and a Dainty Flake Stick Pin under Barrettes and Brooches. Some pieces have traveled to my art gallery, The Blue Heron in Volant, some are listed on Etsy and some will be going to the Keystone Summit for sale in December. Happy Halloween!
