While I convalesce here on the Snappy Tatter sofa from an evil bout of asthma with my antibiotics, mucinex, ibuprofen and giant box of tissues…I thought I would share the first snowfall of the season. Click each photo to be taken to more pics and full descriptions!
It’s Christmas in July in Snappy Tatter-land! I have been camping, designing and tatting through the week and haven’t had much time to Blog, Facebook etc. I have a new Couture choker I am working on. It will be named Goddess. I am hoping to have it finished by the end of the week. And I am working on a feathered wing design that is proving to be quite a challenge. I recently designed a Pink Ribbon pendant for my friend at the post office who is a cancer survivor and I will be posting a Pink Ribbon Pin on Etsy soon. I hope to drop in some photos of the the pendant later today or tomorrow.
We camped through last weekend in the woods of Raccoon Creek. We had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful, we were away from everything and truly relaxed. We came home to a garden that had doubled in size, two lazy cats and a green, happy lizard. Soon we will have cucumbers and tomatoes by the pounds.
SNAPPY SHOP NEWS: Snappy Tatter on Etsy is having a Christmas in July sale. 25% off everything holiday related. For my Blog readers, subscribers and Facebook friends, this is in addition to the July coupons SNAPPYFIREWORKS, which takes 10% off everything or SNAPPYSHIPPING, which is free shipping on everything. The sale price is already adjusted on the items below so you can use either of the coupons at checkout for additional savings. Also-the last of my tatted butterfly applique is still 50% off with automatic free shipping. I have moved my butterfly applique to my sister shop JJBeads.
All of these items are found in my shop, Snappy Tatter. This sale will continue through all of July.

I have a super busy day of filling weekend orders and working out my newest designs. I hope to have good pics for everyone later.
It’s snowing here in western PA. Lovely little flurries swirling around outside. Not a bad day to be inside in my studio sprucing up new photos. New camera, new software and new necklace.
This 17″ shuttle-tatted necklace is 5 beaded Dainty flakes tatted together for a Flurry of crisp, sparkly snowflakes. All the glass beads are Aurora Borealis coated which gives a slight rainbow effect to the clear glass. White picot-edged ribbon and Sterling jewelry components finish off this wintery delight. This necklace traveled to the Blue Heron Art Gallery a few days ago for display and sale.
I have decided to extend a sale to my ETSY customers over the holiday weekend. Shipping is reduced to $1 for the first item and $0.25 for each additional item. All of my PIXIES and tatted Butterflies are 20% off. You do not need to do anything to take advantage of this sale…the price has been adjusted. Sale ends Tuesday 11/30.
AND I would like to add a FREE Dainty Flake to anyone who purchases from my ETSY shop through my Blog or Facebook. You can get to my shop through the link at the left. Just enter “blog” in notes to seller at checkout and I will add a Dainty Flake to your order for free.
One of my favorite Snappy Tatter designs, this variation of Flirtation is perfect for the upcoming holidays. I recently purchased the soft evergreen thread and paired it with a ruby color to make this shuttle tatted motif necklace. Bright red seed beads and a large black glass bead make the blossom in the center “pop”. See my other Flirtation creations by clicking the listing to the left. This necklace will be going with me to the Keystone summit in December for display and sale.
I spent a lovely day at the Blue Heron Art Gallery in Volant on Saturday soaking up beautiful weather chatting and tatting. We had a nice flow of traffic. The Amish were there selling their baked goods (forgot to get the hubby a pie) and their knitted goods. I had a chance to show how tatting is done and explain what is involved in designing and creating my work.
Ironically, in this beautiful weather we are having here in western PA I am beginning to think about snowflakes. Tatted flakes. I love them and I can never seem to have enough to list in Snappy Tatter on Etsy. This year I have vowed that I will get a head start on flakes before the Christmas mania. Here is a newly listed Flake from my Etsy shop…an Ice Crystal. A new line I am very excited about. They will all be beaded with glass and embellished with crystals. I would like them to be the couture style line of tatted Flakes. Something sparkly and perfect. All original designs…and very flaky.
