The Corsage Garden Box is an original work of Tatting and Embroidery created this past spring. I work hard to make my unique designs as professional as possible as well as whimsical and unique. I started by shuttle tatting a large boysenberry colored blossom with very long and uniform picots (loops) and beads that were tatted into the center ring. I embroidered the background of white Damask Aida cloth with a combination of pale pink cotton floss combined with metallic filament in a neutral color. The stitches are eyelets with a tiny pale pink rocaille bead in the center. The evergreen colored leaves are free hand satin stitched with cotton floss embellished with Rayon thread around the edges to give dimension and shine. Tacking the blossom to the center of the leaves with glass cathedral beads and adding a tiny Swarovski crystal butterfly completed the surface. Edging in a handmade cable of pink and white and completely lining the inside in evergreen felt makes this 4″ x 3 1/4″ metal box a little keepsake. This original design completely designed and created by me was sold at the Blue Heron Art Gallery in Volant, PA.
